Observatory on Písečný vrch

The observatory on Písečný vrch is a place where you can observe the real sky in real time.

We are regularly open to the public: during the day, you can safely observe the dynamic surface of the Sun, while evening observations offer views of the Moon, planets, star clusters, nebulae, galaxies, and other objects in the universe.

In addition to regular visits, we invite you to observe extraordinary events such as eclipses or meteor showers. During selected events, we also use the garden and rooftop terrace, adding a unique atmosphere to the experience.

What does the observatory offer?

• Lectures and science: In our spacious hall, we host popular science programs focused on astronomy, physics, and technology.
• Interactive exhibition: Try modern displays, explore exhibitions in the domes, or enjoy one of the best views of Teplice.
• Programs for groups: We offer customized visits for schools and larger groups, even outside regular opening hours.

If the sky is cloudy, we always provide a high-quality alternative program.
