Town houses in the complex of the Beethoven Sanatorium

The core of the Teplice spa bears the name of composer Ludwig van Beethoven and today is linked to the original spa buildings of Městské (Town Spa), Knížecí (Prince’sSpa), Dámské (Ladies’ Spa), Pasířské (Girdler’s Spa) spas and Panský dům (Manorial House). For example, King Frederick William III of Prussia, who saved the town of Teplice together with Tsar Alexander in the Battle of Chlumec in 1813, would regularly stay there. The town built a monument in his honour in Letná with a bronze statue of Genius. Following renovation works in the 1980s, the original town houses of Lázeňská ulička were connected to this core.
